Back in 1955 Doc Brown was living in a fairly large house, not in a garage next to a Burger King. It's the infamous Gamble House in Pasadena, California.
Before filming Michael J Fox had no idea how to skate board. If you pay careful attention the car park at the beginning of the film is situated at the Twin Pines Mall. Doc Brown refers to the land and how it used to belong to "Old Man Peabody". When Marty goes back in time we see Peabody's farm and Marty accidentally knocks down a pine tree. When Marty returns to 1985 at the end of the film, the Mall Sign now shows "Lone Pine Mall".
