Synopsis
A young woman (Sandra Bullock) disappears mysteriously at a service station one day while vacationing with her boyfriend (Kiefer Sutherland). After three years of searching obsessively for her, the boyfriend is contacted by the woman's abductor (Jeff Bridges), a happily married professor whose deceptively normal facade masks the soul of a psychotic criminal. The man tests the depths of the boyfriend's obsession by drawing him into a bizarre and sinister game in which the young man must risk his own well-being in order to solve the mystery of his lover's disappearance.

The Location where the plot of this film really kicks off. While Barney Cousins (Kiefer Sutherland) sorts the car out his girlfriend Diane Shaver (Sandra Bullock) nips inside the service station. Unfortunatly she never returns and Barney is left spending the next 3 years trying to find out what really happened.
